I started in the motor industry 23 years ago as an apprentice mechanic with BMW and have now progressed to be General Manager of Sime Darby Automobiles, the importer and distributor business within Sime Darby NZ. I have worked in all areas of the motor industry, and have also worked overseas for four years at BMW headquarters in Germany. To further my knowledge I studied part-time and completed an MBA at Auckland University.

The motor industry offers many opportunities for those who are prepared to work and study hard. I have found that Sime Darby is very committed to the ongoing development of their staff, offers you a great future and is a great place to work.

After 8 years with the Sime Darby group in New Zealand, with the Peugeot importer / distributor (Sime Darby Automobiles) - working my way up from warehouse storeman to warranty administrator, then to sales coordinator and on to business development - I was recently given the opportunity to move within the group to become Peugeot's Distribution & Logistics Coordinator based in Sydney. In less than a year, I am now a Regional Sales Manager for them!

It's great to work within a group that has so many opportunities, supports career development and has an HR team that covers both New Zealand and Australia.

I have worked for Truck Stops for 14 years, starting as a Diesel Technician then progressing to the role of Regional Manager. It's great to work for a company that is financially stable, has quality brands to be associated with and provides employment opportunities within the wider group for career development.

In 2006 I was fortunate enough to be chosen to represent the Sime Darby NZ team in tennis and squash at the 'Sime Darby Group Games' held annually in Kuala Lumpur. I started working for Sime Darby NZ in May 2010 as an Audi groomer for Continental Car Services. I enjoyed the role I started with as it allowed me to get to know everyone in the Audi team, and learn about the various vehicles Continental Car Services has to offer. After 9 months an opportunity to become an Audi sales cadet came up and I was successful.

I am committed to working hard and really enjoy working for Sime Darby, where there are always opportunities to further your career. My next goal is to become an experienced and successful salesman.
